CONVERT_TZ()
CONVERT_TZ() is a SQL function in the Date/Time Functions category. Converts a datetime from one timezone to another. MySQL-specific. The syntax is CONVERT_TZ(datetime, from_tz, to_tz). It accepts datetime, from_tz, to_tz. It returns converted datetime. A typical example: SELECT CONVERT_TZ('2026-06-06 12:00:00', 'US/Eastern', 'UTC'); -- 2026-06-06 16:00:00 (Eastern to UTC) A close relative is NOW(), which returns the current date and time as a timestamp.
