RENAME USER
RENAME USER is a SQL statement in the Administration category. Renames a database user account. The syntax is RENAME USER 'old_user'@'host' TO 'new_user'@'host';. It returns user renamed. A typical example: RENAME USER 'app_user'@'localhost' TO 'prod_user'@'localhost'; A close relative is CREATE USER, which creates a new database user account.
