KILL
KILL is a SQL statement in the Administration category. Terminates a database connection or a running query. Used to stop long-running or problematic queries. The syntax is KILL [CONNECTION | QUERY] process_id;. It returns none (process killed). A typical example: SHOW PROCESSLIST; -- Find the Id of the hanging query KILL 12345; -- Terminates connection 12345 -- Kill only the query (not connection): KILL QUERY 12345; A close relative is CREATE USER, which creates a new database user account. A close relative is GRANT, which grants specific privileges (SELECT, INSERT, UPDATE, DELETE, ALL) to a user on a database/table. A close relative is REVOKE, which removes previously granted privileges from a user. More about this category: Database administration — CREATE DATABASE, GRANT, REVOKE, SHOW, DESCRIBE.
